<B>Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers - Fantastic Four #17, page 8 Original Art (Marvel, 1963). </B></I> Who could forget this outrageous scene featuring Dr. Doom's oddball nuisances, the "followers?" The diabolic Doctor Doom had played his opening gambit in "Defeated by Doctor Doom." Offbeat scenes such as this were what set mighty Marvel apart from its Distinguished Competition. Dick Ayers inks complemented Kirby's pulse-pounding pencils and he was a key talent on this classic yarn. Jack Kirby signed the page in the lower border at the lower right.
