A finely detailed solid gold suspension badge given to cowboy, Jack Elliott. The badge has a central 6-point star with "1st Prize - Expert Horsemanship - International Horse Show - London Eng." engraved on the face and "Presented by H. R. H. Price of Wales '09" on the reverse. The pin-back top ribbon with "Jack Elliott" also has his brand JHE scratched into the reverse. 2 7/8" tall and 1 3/4" wide.
The badge is a wonderful rare example of early gifting from the Prince of Wales to Colorado cowboy Jack Elliott for his performance at the 1909 “Golden West Exhibition” in Olympia hall, Earls Court, London, England. The show featured bronco busting, the San Francisco earthquake and the Blackhawk Massacre.

They received the Iron Cross from Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany, and England's King George V awarded them a gold medal, as did the Queen of England.Jack married Zoe Moore and lived out his life on the ranch, raising cattle and coursing (hunting coyotes with greyhounds) as recreation.
