Jack Davis was one of the most prolific of the EC staff, and this page display the energetic quality of his illustrations that are even more appealing because of his supreme skill in the use of the ink medium and silver printed applications which emulate the zipatone process with chemical washes. Because of the nature of the "Scenes We'd Like to See" format, each page is a stand alone work of art. Davis would draw one half of the page and then paste up the second half with panel stats that were identical except for the original hand drawn last panel that humorously changed the outcome of the scene. This page was also used as part of the <B>Mad Special</B></I> #21 insert and was subsequently cut apart and then mounted onto a piece of illustration board with a replacement title stat to accommodate that format. The original title piece is included with this lot. This page is in great shape with very minor staining. This piece measures approximately 17.25" x 22.75" with an image area of 13.5" x 18.25". <B>Estimate: $1,500-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
