Jack Butler Yeats (1876-1957) FROM PORTACLOY TO RATHLIN O'BEIRNE,1932 Oil on canvas; signed lower left. A man embraces his horse on a heathery tussock at Portacloy on the north coast of Mayo, with a view below him across the sea to Rathlin O'Beirne Island, on the coast of Donegal. Hilary Pyle calls this work one of the finest of Yeats' personalized landscapes.
