In part, "...J P Benjamin answers as garnishee as follows...I am the owner and possessor of property in the third Municipality as follows...in square 45...property assessed at 1300...square 148...assessed at $375. I also own a property...not assessed in my name last year which is worth Six thousand dollars - I neither own nor hold other property in said Municipality...There formerly existed a ground rent on the last named property, but it was extinguished by the payment of the capital many years ago...My taxes are paid for the year 1844 and I believe that those for the year 1845 are not yet due...I owe nothing but of the taxes of 1845...it must be less than twenty dollars..."
