<B>JOSEPHINE MAHAFFEY (American, 1903-1982)</B></I><BR>Untitled Landscape with houses<BR>Watercolor and graphite on paper, mounted on mat board<BR>8in. x 10-1/2in.<BR><BR>Josephine Mahaffey attended the College of Industrial Arts (now Texas Woman's University) and after graduation continued her studies with Sallie Blythe Mummert. Additional instruction was with Clinton King, Octavio Medellin, Kathleen Lawrence, and John Erickson. For many years she ran her own art gallery in Azle and taught watercolor classes in Fort Worth. Josephine was a fixture at Fair Park and the State Fair of Texas selling her art.
