""Sam'l. Jones"" 4pp. 8vo., Baltimore, Nov. 20, 1875, in part: ""àI am sorry that I cannot give you any accurate information in regard to the composition of the command of Brig. Gen'l. R. S. Garnett. Where his command was organized, and where he was killed. I was so engrossed with my duties at Manassas that I could know little of other commandsàyou may obtain information on the subject from his father-in-law, Geo. S. NelsonàGarnett was a class mate and personal friend of mine and I am sure the South lost one its most gallant and accomplished officers when he fell. I shall be glad to receive your narrative of the siege of SavannahàNearly all my papers were destroyed or fell into the hands of the enemy after the surrender. I have however a copy of the official report of operations of troops on the line of the Charlestown and Savannah railroadàI shall be glad to give you any informationà"". More interesting detail. Glue residue along left edge, not affecting content. Very good.
