<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899><i>Harper’s Weekly</i>, Vol IX, No. 459, Oct 14, 1865. Just six months after Lincoln’s assassination, this issue features on the first page an engraved sketch by Stanley Fox of “<i>President Andrew Johnson Pardoning Rebels at the White House</i>” beneath a smaller sketch of his tailor shop in Greenville, TN. Johnson assumes an attitude of reconciliation as “<i>hundreds of these pardon-seekers daily besiege the White House. They crowd into the ante-room and are ushered into the President’s presence each in his turn, and if found all right on the record they are pardoned, otherwise not.</i>” VG. Tastefully matted and contained under glass within wood frame. Very nice.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
