Hill

Hill often painted watercolors featuring flowers growing in a natural setting. In these works, which are generally intimate in scale, the artist uses the stipple technique advocated by Ruskin to achieve a gem-like luminosity of tone. Hill was extraordinarily sensitive to form and detail, and achieved a stunning subtlety of effect similar to the work of painters associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in England.

Condition Report: In overall very good condition, on oval shaped paper and adhered to a sheet of rectangular archival paper

Shipping: Requires 3rd Party Shipping (view shipping information)
