Boldly penned and signed in bottom left corner. Though undated, this was most certainly penned in 1776, as Major General Thomas was commissioned on Mar 6 of that year and died just three months later on Jun 2 in Canada from smallpox. Artfully matted beside lithograph portrait and descriptive plaque and contained under glass within ornate gilt frame.
