Revolutionary War dated document is dated “In Congress 28th June, 1779” and reads “Resolved, That it be recommended to the Journal States by the most speedy and Rigorous Efforts to fill up their respective Battalions agreeable to the Revolution of Congress of the 9th Day of March last, thus nothing may be ? on their part to undue the present Campaign glorious and decisive./Extract from the Minister/Cha. Thomson ”. Charles Thomson was Secretary of the Continental Congress. Letter is signed at bottom left “John Hancock”. Letter is in poor condition with several missing areas. Letter is matted along with a black and white photo of Hancock as well as a facsimile signature. Matting: 13” x 16”
