JOHN F. KENNEDY TYPED LETTER SIGNED. Typed two-page letter boldly signed "John Kennedy" on 7" x 10.25" White House stationary, Washington, D.C., June 18, 1963. Note to Governor Elbert N. Carvel (Governor of Delaware 1949-1953, 1961-1965) replying to Carvel's letter dated May 22, 1963 furnishing a copy of Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 17 adopted by the General Assembly of Delaware, endorsing Carvel's opposition to the plans of the Department of the Interior for the acquisition of lands for the proposed Primehook National Wildlife Refuge. Kennedy states that two public meetings have been held to inform the public of the Department of the Interior's objectives. Kennedy also states that appraisals for the land are just and fair. Kennedy finally asks Carvel if he will find it possible to retract his objections. Numerous staple holes at top left and top center.
