John F. Kennedy Archive From the David Powers Estate
(JOHN F. KENNEDY). Archive from the Estate of his Close Friend and Adviser, David F. Powers, later Curator of the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum from 1964 to 1994.
An interesting Archive of notes, speeches, and anecdotes compiled by David Farnaci Powers, who was one of President Kennedy’s longest-serving confidants and assistants. Overall condition of the archive is Very Fine. This Archive includes:

1. Three ring, bound scrapbook titled "Humor J.F.K." consisting of 14 pages collected by Dave Powers including newspaper clippings, personal recollections of J.F.K.'s humor, random humorous quotes, selected amusing anecdotes.

2) Twelve page "J.F.K., A Legacy of Laughter, in his own voice... in his own time.."1975.

3) Eleven page "Dave Powers Remembers J.F.K.'s Humor." Together with an interesting file by Dave Powers on the subject.

4) Ten page Typewritten "President Kennedy's Humor" by Dave Powers.

5) Eleven pages of "Potential Humor for Oklahoma Speech" 1959.

6) Telegram from Jack Parr

7) Telegram from Helen Greg and Bob Carman.

Overall, a nice accumulation of John F. Kennedy-related items. Pedigree: Sold by John McInnis Auctions, February 17, 2013, Lot 519, where it hammered at $425. (includes with lot image and description printout from that sale).
David Francis Powers (April 25, 1912 - March 28, 1998) was Special Assistant and assistant Appointments Secretary to President of the United States John F. Kennedy. Powers served as Museum Curator of the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum from 1964 until his retirement in May 1994. Powers was a military veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1945. Powers was also a close friend of Kennedy.
