JOHN DUNLAP (1747-1812) Irish/American printer. From 1771, he was the publisher of "The Pennsylvania Packet", which became the first daily newspaper in the United States, 1784. Dunlap printed the original broadside of the Declaration of Independence. Partly printed DS, signed twice, 1p, Sept 17, 1787, folio, deed for the sale of his land, 500 acres in Northumberland County, Penn. Also signed twice by D C Claypoole, who a pencil note indicates was an "In-law of Betsy Ross." Light soiling, o/w VG. Scarce. $1,500-2,500
