American industrialist who was the principal mover in expanding a small oil refinement business into Standard Oil Company, thereafter engaging in ongoing legal battles against antitrust suits. Reputed to have amassed over $1 billion in personal fortune at his peak, he donated over half to charities before his death. Partly printed DS, small oblong folio, New York, Jun 16, 1887. Ornate Standard Oil Trust stock certificate No. 3022 for repurchase of eight shares. Attractive engraved vignette at top center. Boldly signed as president. Countersigned by <b><font size=-1>Henry M. Flagler</font></b> (1830-1913) as Secretary. He was associated with Rockefeller in the development of the Standard Oil Company, later organized the Florida East Coast Railway and built great hotels at Florida shore resorts. Cancellation stamp present. Stub attached, and the transfer has been completed on verso. Signatures machine canceled, versus standard pen cancellation; multiple staple punctures at top left; light wrinkling; o/w VG.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
