On his personal letterhead to Mrs. H.E. Whyte informing her of a gift he has sent upon her recent marriage. In full, “<i>I am sending you a little check, as a wedding gift, rather than risk duplicating something you may already have, and feeling that you would prefer to make your own selection. Please accept with this my best wishes for you and the fortunate Mr. Whyte, with the hope that you may have long and happy lives together</i>.” Large signature at conclusion, boldly penned by the elderly philanthropist.
