MODEL 1860 ARMY SINGLE ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER WITH FACTORY BOX. Cal. 44. S# 202307. Bbl. 8". Black Powder Series Model 1860 Army single action percussion revolver mfg. by Colt. Top of the bbl. is marked with Colt's single line New York address. Left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/ PATENT/ U.S.". The bbl. features professionally executed scroll engraving on punch dot backgrounds, terminating in 2 gold bands at the muzzle. Underside of bbl. is engraved "ENG./ BY/ J. ADAMS". Additional complimentary engraving is present on the rear of the rebated cyl., sides of the trigger guard, bottom of the trigger guard box, as well as on the rear grip strap. Top of rear grip strap is embellished with a silver bears head, with a silver deer/elk head embossed on the butt. Frame, hammer, and loading lever exhibit a case color hardened finish, with the bbl., bbl. wedge, cyl., trigger, and rear grip strap exhibiting a blue finish. Brass trigger guard, with 1-piece smooth wood grip. German silver blade front sight, with V-notch rear sight on hammer. Frame features elongated screws, with the butt being notched for a stock attachment. All serialized parts are matching. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory box, with end label matching via a handwritten S# in marker, as is standard. CONDITION: case colored parts retain fair mounts of their original case coloring, showing varying degrees of fading overall. Blued parts are very good, with some spots of light wear. Cyl. bears a dragline. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Brass trigger guard shows mild tarnishing overall. Grip is excellent. Box shows some exterior wear from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (01-27137/MLW). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
