Vintage hardcover autograph album, 6 x 4.25, signed inside in ballpoint by Jimi Hendrix ("Jimi Hendrix, love to you," with a heart sketch), Noel Redding ("Noel, xx"), and Mitch Mitchell ("Mitch, xx"). In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and a detailed letter of provenance from the original recipient stating that the autographs were obtained at the Gaumont Cinema, Wolverhampton, England on April 13, 1967, in part: "The main attraction were the Walker Brothers which I was a fan of with a diverse number of artists i.e. Cat Stevens, Engelbert Humperdinck, The Quotations a local group the Californians and of course Jimi Hendrix and the Experience, hosted, compered by Nicky Jones. My friend and I decided to go to the backstage door after school on 13th April 1967 to catch a glimpse of the Walker Brothers and obtain their autograph! I purchased a brand new Autograph Book from Woolworths for the occasion. We arrived at the Gaumont at about 4:30pm a small crowd were gathering possibly about 50 not a great number, the rear of the cinema was down a quiet side road that led to the stage door a relatively small area. We all waited for some time over an hour hoping to see artists arrive, we chanted a few times to see sight of ‘The Walker Brothers’ the main event! The stage door did open a few times unidentified people going in and out no one recognized. We were told to be quiet and then told that the Walker Brothers would NOT be giving out any autographs so no point in staying around. After a while some of the crowd did start to disperse, some were due to see the show so left to queue at the front entrance to gain entry. A few of us waited just in case. The stage door did open again a man popped his head out with wild hair and a bandana and a big smile. He asked the few of us that were still there 'Would you like me to get you some autographs girls” (no lads were there!) words to that effect. We all answered yes. He asked for us to pass onto him our autograph books, pads whatever anyone had. He took them went back through the stage door which then closed shut! We were all a bit stunned and confirmed with each other “that was Jimi Hendrix wasn’t it”? We all agreed what a nice thing he had done but we did wonder if we would get out autograph books back? We were handed our books etc back before the 6:30pm concert start time, the stage door opened a man no one recognized held up the books for us to claim we all had a quick look, no Walker Brothers autographs! On checking my autograph book, as it was brand new and no previous entries all the squiggles and signatures were made by artists etc from the concert some not clear at all who they were."
