JIM MORRISON: (1943 - 1971) Moody, poetic lead singer and lyricist for the rock band The Doors, best remembered for his songs "Light My Fire", "Hello I Love You", "The End", and "People Are Strange". Died mysteriously in Paris. A fantastic piece of Doors memorabilia, an A.Ms. (unsigned) in Morrison's hand being fourteen lines of lyrics from his song "Peace Frog" which appeared on the 1970 album Morrison Hotel. The lyrics read in full: "There's blood in the streets / & its up to by ankles / Blood in the streets / & its up to my Knee / Blood in the streets/ of the town of Chicago / Blood on the rise / & its following me - / running like a river of sadness / & its up to my thigh / The river runs red / down the legs of the city / The women are crying / red rivers of blood". This fine item came from the consignor's great uncle who worked as a sound and lighting engineer at the Whisky-A-Go-Go and the Troubadour in Hollywood. Thus it is likely that these lyrics were written for a performance at one of these clubs. Upper right corner torn, several slight marginal tears, a few minor wrinkles and folds, otherwise very good condition. $2,000-3,000
