John F. Kennedy typed letter signed with handwritten note. Composed on U.S. Senate stationery and dated 21 May 1953, Kennedy writes to Mr. Keegan regarding a security test for federal employees. In part: “...Thank you for your communication concerning the security test for federal employees. I am very much concerned with this situation and feel that it is too early to tell exactly how this will work as compared with the previous loyalty program. I do appreciate having your views on this and shall give them my most careful consideration should legislation be brought before the Senate. With kindest regards, / Sincerely yours...” Signed “John Kennedy” in bold black ink. Handwritten note reads, “I am having a study made of the new program at the present time and shall bear in [continued on verso] mind your comment.” Letter measures 8.5” x 11”. Minor wear, else near fine condition.
