Dated 26 June 1961, Kennedy taps Taylor to ''give his personal views to assist the President in reaching decisions.'' Following the disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion, JFK appointed Taylor to head a task force investigating its failure. Kennedy came to trust Taylor immensely, leading to his appointment as a close military advisor. 4pp. legal-sized document includes Taylor's bio. Creasing to last page, else fine.
