Two original press releases issued by the Kennedy Administration, both dated 29 September 1962. The frustration of the President is palpable in the releases, the first of which proclaims that the Governor of Mississippi and others are ''willfully opposing and obstructing the enforcement of orders'' and commands that they ''cease and desist.'' Second release orders the federalization of the National Guard after deciding that the Governor ''could or would'' not maintain law and order. Releases measure 8.5'' x 14'' and 8.5'' x 11''. Near fine.
