JEAN SIGNOVERT<BR>1919 - 1981 (French) <BR><BR>L'Ile de Ly - 1969 <BR>Original Hand Signed and Hand Inscribed Etching with Aquatint<BR><BR>Title : L'Ile de Ly. <BR><BR>Technique : Original Etching with Aquatint on BFK Rives Vellum (wove) paper. <BR><BR>Paper Size : 32,5 X 25 cm / 12.8 X 9.8 inch. <BR><BR>Image Size : 9 X 12 cm / 3.5 X 4.7 inch. <BR><BR>Additional Information : This Etching with Aquatint is Hand Signed by the artist in ink at the right lower margin, <BR>as well as Hand Titled and Inscribed in ink "l'ile de Ly - epreuve de graveur" (Printer's Proof) at the lower left margin.<BR>Furthermore the work is dated "69" (1969) next to the signature. <BR><BR>Jean Signovert was an important member of the French Abstract movement after the second world war.<BR>The movement included different groups as "Abstraction-Création" with Auguste Herbin, Georges Vantongerloo, Hans Arp, Albert Gleizes, Jean Hélion, Georges Valmier and Frantisek Kupka.<BR>After the second world war the significant Abstract groups were called among others "Art Informel", "Lyrical Abstraction" , "ART AUTRE" and "Tachism".<BR>The artist who praticipated were among others: Andre Lanskoy, Wols, Leon Zack, Hans Hartung, Georges Mathieu, Henri Michaux, Pierre Soulages, Jean Bazaine, Alfred Manessier, Serge Poliakoff, Vasily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Jean Dubuffet, Jean-Michel Atlan, Roger Bissière, Camille Bryen, Alberto Burri, Charles Lapicque, Pierre Soulages, Nicolas de Staël, Antoni Tàpies and Jean Fautrier. <BR><BR>Condition : Good Condition.
