JEAN SIGNOVERT<BR>1919 - 1981 (French) <BR><BR>A.Quoibon - 1973 <BR>Original Hand Signed and Hand Inscribed Etching <BR><BR>Title : A.Quoibon. <BR><BR>Technique : Original Etching on Velin (wove) paper. <BR><BR>Paper Size : 65 X 50 cm / 18.9 X 12.6 inch. <BR><BR>Image Size : 49 X 39 cm 19.2 X 15.3 inch. <BR><BR>Additional Information : This Etching is Hand Signed by the artist in the right lower margin, <BR>and also Hand Inscribed in pencil "e.d' atelior " (Epreuve d'Atelier) at the lower Left margin.<BR>Further more the work is dated "3.4.73" (1973) next to the signature and titled "A.Quoibon" in the lower left margins. <BR><BR>Jean Signovert was an importnat member of the French Abstract movement after the second world war.<BR>The movement included different groups as "Abstraction-Cration" with Auguste Herbin, Georges Vantongerloo, Hans Arp, Albert Gleizes, Jean Hlion, Georges Valmier and Frantisek Kupka.<BR>After the second world war the significant Abstract groups were called among others "Art Informel", "Lyrical Abstraction" , "ART AUTRE" and "Tachism".<BR>The artist who praticipated were among others: Andre Lanskoy, Wols, Leon Zack, Hans Hartung, Georges Mathieu, Henri Michaux, Pierre Soulages, Jean Bazaine, Alfred Manessier, Serge Poliakoff, Vasily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Jean Dubuffet, Jean-Michel Atlan, Roger Bissire, Camille Bryen, Alberto Burri, Charles Lapicque, Pierre Soulages, Nicolas de Stal, Antoni Tpies and Jean Fautrier. <BR><BR>Condition :Good Condition, Some stains in the upper right margins, lower margins and a few creases in the margins of the paper.
