A fine Japanese wired cloisonné enamel vase, with a gracefully tapered ovoid form and gently flared neck, featuring a vivid turquoise ground decorated with a garden of iris flowers in full bloom. The blossoms, rendered in white, violet, and deep burgundy, are finely detailed with copper wire outlines. The tall, slender green leaves and stems are elegantly stylized in a balanced composition, wrapping around the entire body. The neck and foot rims are finished with traditional wave-scroll (seigaiha) and spiral motifs, and the interior and base are enameled in a pale yellow ground, showing light oxidation, typical of Japanese cloisonné vases from this period. The unmarked base suggests it was made for export, but still represents high-quality craftsmanship from a Japanese cloisonné workshop. This style is closely associated with early 20th-century cloisonné enamel production, particularly from Nagoya and Tokyo-based workshops that continued the Meiji tradition into the Taishō and early Shōwa periods. The vibrant floral imagery, especially irises and lotus, was popular among both Japanese consumers and international collectors. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold "as-is", refer to our T&C.Helios Auctions does not ship in-house.
