JAPAN: Meiji, 1868-1912, AE medal, year 28 (1895), Zeno-218594, 67mm, obverse with samurai or Japanese deity, legend contains the date and "Kyoto 4th National Domestic Industrial Goods Exposition " // characters for award or merit on either side of a crysthanamum seal, legend "2555th Year of Jimmu Emperor Era " above and below, semi-prooflike surfaces under chocolate brown patina, many small contact marks and scuffs, a rare early Meiji-era Japanese medal, EF, RR. This medal has some signs of wear as one might expect for a Meiji-era medal. We could find no examples of this medal listed on CoinArchives and as such it appears to be rare.
