On blue paper trimmed from larger leaf, a manuscript “Soldiers Discharge” for Dan R. Monroe, a Hospital Steward of Confederate Guards Battalion who enlisted in New Orleans, “...<i>by reason of his being over age as per Act passed called the Conscript Act of April 16th 1862.</i>..” Boldly signed with rank. Light to moderate soiling, especially at right margin; stain along vertical fold touching but not obscuring three letters in last name; 2" fold separation with no paper loss; laid to same size heavier stock; o/w Good.</span></p>

1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.

6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.
