Co-signed by W. L. MARCY as Secretary of War. The usual folds, else very clean and near fine condition. Along with a partly-printed L.S. 1p. 4to., Washington, May 8, 1847 from Adjutant General W. G. FREEMAN, sending the commission. The lot also includes an A.L.S. of LORENZO THOMAS 1p. 4to., Washington, Nov. 14, 1850 notifying Baccus of his promotion as full Major and his assignment to the 3rd. Infantry as well as an A.L.S. of ELECTUS BACCUS, 1p. 4to., Detroit, Oct. 28, 1850 to General R. Jones informing him of his appointment and asking him to forward the letter to the Secretary of War.
