Technique : Original Etching on simili Japon paper.

Paper Size : 24 X 29.5 cm / 9.5 X 11.6 inch.

Image Size : 8 X 12 cm / 3.1 X 4.8 inch.

Additional Information : This fine etching is Hand Signed and dated in pencil by the artist "James Ensor 1888" at the lower right margin.
It is also Signed in the plate in the plate "Ensor" in the lower right part.
Furthermore the work is Hand Signed on the reverse of the paper and stamped on the back side DB in the upper right corner.
This is the final state of the Etching.

Since the very opening of the gallery Le Bateau-Lavior, Mira Jacob was active in promoting the importance of the work of James Ensor. In accordance with Andr Breton she included him in the symbolist exhibition of 1958, but she was particularly concerned with his graphic oeuvre: in 1978 she organized an exhibition of his complete printed works. The exhibition was also shown at the Muse de la Ville de Strasbourg (1995) and at the Kunstmuseum, Basle (1996).
