JAMES BOND: GOLDFINGER

British Quad (30" x 40"); Style B, Country-of-Origin
Very Fine+ on Linen; Artwork by Robert Brownjohn
United Artists, 1964

For collectors of James Bond memorabilia, the Style B British quad poster is quite rare. It was created for the Irish market, which had strict censorship laws. The bolder Style A poster was not suitable for this market, leading to the creation of the Style B poster for use within the country. The poster, designed by Robert Brownjohn who also created the film's famous opening credits, is considered one of the rarer British posters for the movie. It features images of Sean Connery and Honor Blackman superimposed upon Shirley Eaton's golden hand, and many people find this image more striking than that of the Style A quad.

Before being linen-backed, this poster underwent professional touch-ups to address folds, random creases, and small tears within the image area. This example is in excellent condition and would be a significant addition to any James Bond collection. This is a full-bleed poster and includes all of the copyright information in both lower corners.

Directed by Guy Hamilton, this third Bond movie set the template for every 007 adventure that followed, with its heady cocktail of girls, gadgets, comedy, thrills, and an outlandish villain played by Gert Frobe with dubbing by British actor Michael Collins.
