JACQUELINE KENNEDY (1929-95) 1st Lady. ALS, as 1st Lady, 2pp (single sheet), nd, 8vo, White House, designing the official White House Christmas card. Reads, "Tish - This is the final decision on our Xmas card - so ignore my notes inside big envelope to you...Order more than just for heads of State - He will want to send them to Cabinet...& I could send about 25 to old non political friends...See if you have Macmillans card from last yr - Anyway - so many people do photographed Xmas cards here - The heavy card paper suitable for printing photos on shouldn't be hard to find. If it is a great problen printing The White House in script on envelope - do it in whatever dye we have...It should be sealed with wax & Pres[idential] Seal...can have foto on it & all message in our handwriting. ex: Merry Christmas, John Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy, December 25 1962. When you send me paper - I'll send you signatures to photostat." Interesting to note that in writing her husband's signature in these instructions, Mrs Kennedy does a fairly decent job of imitating his real autograph. VG. $2,500-3,500
