His work is sought after by serious collectors. CONDITION: old repair cracks above middle ramrod ferrule on both left hand & right hand sides, w/ some new wood used forward of that crack on the left hand side. There are a number of age cracks barely noticeable in the forestock; most of the cracks have had little or no restoration, however it appears 2 1/4" of wood has been replaced on the right side between breech plug & lock. Although the gun has a number of age cracks & minor restoration, it has been done so well that w/out a magnifying glass most of it is nearly impossible to see. Many of the cracks simply verify the age of the gun. A very desirable rifle. PROVENANCE: Estate of Frank Glenn Marsh. (01-21271/RG). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
