1907, Wisconsin. Stock certificate for one thousand shares in the J.I. Case Threshing Machine Company Signed as president by FRANK BULL. Full color vignette of an eagle perched atop a globe at top center. Gold embossed company seal at lower left. Usual folds. Stamp cancellation does not affect Bull’s signature. Extremely Fine. Jerome Increase Case founded the J I Case Company in 1842, quickly gaining recognition as the first builder of an agricultural use steam engine. Winning awards at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition and the Paris World’s Fair and expanding greatly, Case rechristened his thriving company as the J.I. Case Threshing Machine Company in 1880. Upon Case’s death eleven years later, one of Case’s partners, Stephen Bull, assumed control of the company. Faced with greatly diminished profits during the depression of the 1890s, Stockholders passed control of the company to Stephen’s son, Frank Bull, who served until 1916, at which point he became chairman of the board.
