J. Stuart Blackton Signed Booklet. J. Stuart Blackton was a pioneer of motion pictures whose contributions are only rivaled by those of D.W. Griffith. While working as a journalist-illustrator for the New York World, Blackton chanced an interview with Thomas Edison, who was deeply impressed with Blackton's drawings and photographed them with his new Kinetograph camera, resulting in the film "Blackton, The Evening World Cartoonist" (1896). Blackton became fascinated by moving pictures and bought a Kinetoscope; before long he had become a technical innovator and proponent of educational films. Featured here is a copy of Sound Pictures for Education and Entertainment, signed by Blackton in green fountain pen, in very good condition with moderate overall tanning and some tears to the onion-skin outer cover. With COA from PSA/DNA.
