Tolkien: </B></I><B><I>The Return of the King</B></I></B></I> (London: George Allen & Unwin, 1955), first edition, first impression, second state, 416 pages plus fold-out map by Christopher Tolkien, red cloth with gilt spine titles, 8vo (5.75" x 9"), dust jacket. Top edge stained red (as issued). The concluding volume in Tolkien's mega-selling classic <I>Lord of the Rings</B></I> trilogy. The book is in about very good condition, with bumped corners, moderate edge wear present, a slightly cocked spine, and mild toning to the textblock edges. The dust jacket is in about good condition, with a 2" x 1.5" portion of the spine missing, worn folds, some chipping, and general edge wear present.
