J.P. Sauer and Sohn Three-Barrel Drilling, #268844. Side-by-Side 16 ga. 25-3/4'' (65cm) Kruff ''Lauftahl'' barrels have 2-1/2'' chambers and are choked IM./Full. The single 8x57mm J.R. rifle barrel is also Krupp and is positioned below the shotgun barrels. The scalloped boxlock action includes lockup via dual underlugs and a Greener crossbolt, double triggers, side safety, extractors, cocking indicators, and a rifle barrel selector that activates a pop-up rifle sight. Receiver is lightly engraved with scroll patterns and the Sauer monogram. The splinter forend and round-knob cheekpiece are straight grained walnut and feature sling swivels, cartridge storage and original monogram Sauer buttplate. Probably mfg'd ca. 1930s in Suhl, Germany. Condition is very good showing light use and proper care. Wood has numerous handling marks; receiver has some frosting, but the action still locks up very tight. All bores are bright. Extractors are included (loose). Est.: $1,500-$2,000. (C&R)
