J. P. Sauer & Son prewar over & under combination rifle/shotgun in 16ga over 8x57mm rimmed. The gun is made shortly before the Nazi era and shows good Prussian quality. The gun shows 25-1/2" over/under mounted barrels with milled raised rib, two-leaf folding rear sight, German type claw mounts, double triggers with set trigger on rifle barrel, cocking indicators, top safety, Monte Carlo type cheekpiece, horn butt and grip cap, European type swing swivels with sling. Approx.90-95% original blue on barrels. Case hardening mostly drifting to silver on frame with traces in protected areas. Good wood stocks with some scratches and normal wear. The action is good, the bores are excellent. The gun is mounted with aBrowning 4-power scope on a clamp type mount set with allen screws on a rail mounted between the claw mounts, which is neatly done. A good German prewar arm by a prominent and well-recognized maker. Est: $1,750 - $3,500
