J. P. Sauer & Son full side lock ejector shotgun with SxS barrels in 12 gauge manufactured 1927, serial number 278272. The barrels show special Krupp steel markings and the action shows side clips, 3rd fastner,greener type cross bolt and generally highest-quality features. The action is nicely bank note scroll engraved. The barrels measure 30” are full 2 ¾” chambers choked .35 for full (right) and .15 light modified(left). The stock measures 15” to the end of a modern type rubber recoil pad and 14” to the end of the wood. There is a 2 ½” drop at the heel and 1 ¾” drop at the comb and there is a slight cast off of 3/8” at the heel andtoe. The wall thickness measures .30 right barrel and .24 left barrel. The barrel has retained 80% to 90% of the original blue drifting on the edges and on the rib at the bottom of the barrels there is a small oldrepair to tighten the rib which is not well done and should be re-fixed. The area of repair is 4” in front of the forend and about 1”. The frame shows 50% to 70% case hardening that is toning slightly and aging
