J.P. Morgan: A Rare Letter - With Fiery Content! Typed letter Signed, 1 page, 5" by 8", on the printed letterhead of 23 Wall Street, New York, September 21, 1911. To George Sylvester Viereck, publisher of "Rundschau Zweier Welten" in New York. In fine condition. J. Pierpont Morgan was, in a word, colossal: the organizing force behind General Electric, U.S. Steel, and vast railroad empires, he served for decades as America's unofficial central banker. It didn't do, as this letter makes abundantly clear, to rile him. "<iIn reply to your letter... I would state that the article is so absurd on the face of it that it hardly seems proper that I should say anything, but, in deference to your request, I would say that there is no foundation whatever for the statement so far as I am concerned." From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
