J.M. Cooper Navy Model Revolver
J.M. Cooper Navy Model Revolver. 4" octagon barrel is 36 caliber and has a good bore with some light rust that will surely clean up. The top of the barrel is marked "Cooper Firearms Mfg. Co. Frankford Phila Pa." over "Pat. Jan 7 1851 Apr 25 1854 Sep 4 1860" over "Sep 1 1863 Sep 22 1863" This is an early production gun with serial number 132 on the barrel, trigger guard and gripstrap. Most first model Coopers have an iron gripstrap, this one is brass. The pistol retains about 25-35% of a thinning blue finish, the wood grips are in fine condition, the brass triggerguard is shinier than the gripstrap. A fairly rare secondary U.S. Martial handgun.
