Signed book: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. First edition. London: Bloomsbury, 2000. Hardcover with dustjacket, 5.5 x 8.25, 636 pages. Signed on the half-title page in blue ballpoint. In fine condition, with a few trivial stains to fore-edges, a couple dings and corner bumps to covers, and a couple mild creases to dustjacket. By the time Rowling had published the fourth Harry Potter book, the franchise had taken on a life of its own and the author was signing fewer and fewer copies. In fact, to promote the publication, Rowling chose to do a mere four-day book-signing tour of England. As a result, any autographed first edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire commands a premium, often high four-figure price tag, with a few examples having realized more than $10,000!
