This painting from the collection of the magician Mr. Cox within the project ‘Magic in Art’ was created by the illusionist himself. On a town square in front of a colourful architectural scenery the magician Mr. Cox is presenting his outstanding trick of the hovering and looping piano. He presented this world sensation in numerous theatres and TV-shows around the world.



The painting is signed lower right ‘J.F. Cox’ and is in a very good condition indicating only insignificant signs of wear. The stretcher frame measures 90 x 90 cm.



J.F. Cox alias Mr. Cox (1932-2012)

The magician and illusionist Mr. Cox was born 1932 in Pomeranian Stettin as Jürgen Wolfgramm. At the age of 15, Mr. Cox was already been taught in magic. A little later he further took acting classes to professionalize his education. The art of magic as well as acting has been his passion ever since, followed by his first international show as a magician in 1958. A few years later Mr. Cox was able to gain the title as world champion of all professional and amateur magicians. In the early 1990s he started the project ‘Magic in Art’ in which the two categories of fine arts and illusion are combined as an artistic synthesis. During the later years of his lifetime Mr. Cox primarily worked as a painter and sculptor, creating numerous works related to the theme of magic and Illusion. (cru)
