Twelve one-page TLSs, all written to Agent Leslie Hall, dating from October 1942 to June of 1961, informing Hall of various pay raises up to a GS 12, with a salary of $7400, presenting him with a Twenty Year Service Award Key, and ultimately accepting his retirement request, each signed in ink by the Bureau director J. Edgar Hoover. Also included are over 30 other letters, some bearing printed Hoover signatures, as well as from various Attorney Generals and associates regarding commendations and personal matters chronicling Hall’s twenty-year FBI career and a Certificate of Honorable War Service bearing a printed Hoover signature.
