One page, 8" x 10.5", on Federal Bureau of Investigation letterhead, Washington, June 4, 1946, to Arthur O. Janke, Joliet, Illinois. In this letter, John Edgar Hoover (1895-1972) sends his regrets to the mayor of Joliet, Illinois for being unable to speak at a dinner given by the Salvation Army.
