J. DeFourny, 20ga over/under full sideplate shotgun showing superb European craftsmanship, serial #8558. The gun shows 27-5/8” barrels, hand-filed raised rib, double triggers with articulated fronttrigger, auto-ejectors. The gun also shows a best-quality European refinish with restored blue and case hardening and has been beautifully restocked in top-quality European burled walnut. The gun is choked “ImprovedCylinder” over “Improved Cylinder”, is finely engraved in floral motifs, very reminiscent of classic English arms of the early 20th century. The gun shows a cross-bolt type lock and is in fine to excellent as-restoredcondition. The stock measures 15-3/8” to the end of the checkered wood butt. The gun shows slight use since restoration and is at least 99%. The quality of the restoration is excellent probably done by a Europeangunsmith or their American equal.
