This exhaustive bibliography is generally regarded as one of the most definitive resources for the history of astronomy from ancient times up until the 1880s. There are upwards of 40,000 individual listings in this volume. It has been reproduced and added to numerous times since its nascent printing. In very good condition; acid degradation has caused the deckled fore-edges to begin to chip; leather slightly rubbed on covers; <I>ex libris</B></I> edition from the Lake Forest College library; book plate from library on end paper; first few pages have separated but still present; Dewey decimal notations on spine.
