Included in this lot is a J.C. Higgins Model 101.1 single shot shotgun. The Model 101.1 was made for the Sears and Roebuck Company by Savage Arms Co. under the name J.C. Higgins (a former Vice President of Sears). This Model 101.1 is a 16 gauge single shot, break action shotgun. The straight grain walnut stock is in good condition. There are some light dents and scratches from use and minor loss to the finish. This model utilizes a 28" blue'd barrel chambered to handle a 16 gauge shell measuring 2 3/4". The barrel is marked on the left "Proof Tested - 16 Gauge - 2 3/4 Inch Chamber" and on the right "Selected Forged Steel." The case hardened receiver is also marked "J.C. Higgins - Model 101.1 - Sears, Roebuck & Company" and "Model 94C." The trigger and checkered hammer operate as intended. No serial number. This is a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires NICS background check, or FFL transfer.
