This seal was made of ivory and comes from China. The seal is decorated with a sculpturally carved bixie on top. A bixie, also known as a pixiu, is a hybrid creature from Chinese mythology that resembles a lion. The animal stands on its four legs and the belly, the neck, the face and the paws illustrate the masterful carving. The wonderful grain of the material and the amber patina of the seal adds an additional appeal. On the base traces of earlier stamp color are visible.

The ivory seal is in good condition with slight signs of age and wear. Small, age-related drying cracks can be seen. The dimensions are 7 cm in height and 6 cm in width.
