<B>Ivory Horse & Rider</B></I> <BR>France.<BR>Ca. 17th century. <BR>3"L. x 2-1/8"H.<BR>Intricately carved ivory fragmentary figure, depicting a knight mounted on horseback. Beautifully carved, having a furrowed cape, sleeves, horses mane and tail, all carved in a wind swept manner, suggesting a horse traveling at full gallop. Several losses, including all four legs of the horse, the riders feet and head, and his sword blade.
