Ivory Headed Walking Cane Late 19th to early 20th century with blackened shaft, sterling silver ferr
Ivory Headed Walking Cane Late 19th to early 20th century with blackened shaft, sterling silver ferrule, and British hallmarks "PN (Anchor)(British Lion) R". The cane measures 38 1/2" overall, the ivory portion measures approx 2 3/4" X 3", the grip is figured in the head of a man in a turban, which was popular in the Victorian era and may be Kipling, the famous author. The right cheek is drilled through for Stanhope for viewer, which is clouded and no longer visible. The head is very well carved and shows good aging, fine detail, a few stress cracks, but no major damage. An exceptional walking stick that would have been the property of a well-to-do gentleman.
